This Miss Piggy found her Kermit

Josh and I just got home from watching The Muppets movie and it left me with a smile.  It reminded me of being young again watching the muppets show.  At one part of the movie, I realized I was Miss Piggy and Josh was Kermit.  I had the round piggy face and Josh has the pointed froggy face.  LOL!

I really enjoyed the movie and when they sang Rainbow Connection, I couldn’t help but sway in my seat.  Josh even held my hand.  It was that moment, where we both went back to our childhood and since Josh and I are the same age, we grew up on the muppets.  And I forgot how cute and funny they were in the most innocent way.  None of this lewd and crude humor we have today.  The muppets were definitely for the kids back then and as adults, it’s for the kid inside of us.  I’ll have to find the version of Rainbow Connection they did in the movie, but for now here’s the lyrics:

Rainbow Connection

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what’s on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we’ve been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they’re wrong, wait and see.
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard
and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it’s done so far.
What’s so amazing that keeps us star gazing
and what do we think we might see?
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell. We know that it’s probably magic.

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I’ve heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it.
It’s something that I’m supposed to be.
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

A great movie to leave me light hearted and believing the good things about life: Magic, love and laughter.

“Oh Kermy…” 🙂
